There are two systems of your vehicle that when working well together enhance comfort and safety. The steering system can be either standard mechanical or rack & pinion. Your steering wheel is connected to a steering box by the steering column. The entire standard system is fairly simple, however if there are weaknesses in the pivotal points, such as worn ball and socket joints your vehicle may become difficult to handle and will result in uneven tire wear. Rack & pinion steering has reduced the number of pivotal points, however this system can leak, which would require complete replacement of the rack assembly.
